Controversial SCV Activist Linked To Accused Spies?

Kirk Lyons, a senior SCV policy-maker and close associate of CIC Wilson, was questioned on Feb. 5th by FBI agents in regard to his association with two persons recently charged with espionage. The story appeared in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer under the title "Ex-Guardsman Charged with Espionage," and has since been carried by forty newspapers and television news programs around the country. The article suggests that Lyons may have been the recipient of secret military documents stolen by those charged in the incident and may have passed the information along to right-wing militia groups.

Lyons' name appears in the indictment, although it is currently unclear as to whether or not he will be charged or called as a witness. CIC Wilson and his League of the South/Council of Conservative Citizens allies have condemned Save the SCV for bringing unwanted publicity to the SCV. In fact, Wilson has charged seven camps and their commanders, and four brigade commanders with actions "detrimental to the Confederation" because they have publicly supported the SSCV's accusation that Wilson and Lyons are filling the SCV national leadership with extremists. We must ask CIC Wilson this question: Does publicity surrounding Kirk Lyons' relationship with people charged with espionage also constitute activity "detrimental" to the SCV, or is that charge only leveled against those who intend to remove the Wilson/Lyons faction from SCV leadership?
