SCV Virginia Division Commander expelled from The Military Order of the Stars and Bars

The deteriorating relationship between the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Military Order of the Stars and Bars (MOS&B) took another turn for the worse on June 11. Longtime SCV/MOS&B member and Virginia SCV Division Commander Brandon Dorsey was expelled from the MOS&B. Relations between the two organizations have grown steadily worse during the past several years as the MOS&B has refused to follow the SCV’s head-long plunge into neo-secessionism. At its recent rump convention in Concord, North Carolina, the SCV decided to sever ties with the MOS&B. With the expulsion of Dorsey, the MOS&B is implying that there is no love lost between the two groups. MOS&B member John Moscoe issued the following communication:

Date: Sunday, June 12, 2005

Subject: Brandon Dorsey Expulsion

Compatriots,

On June 11, 2005, the MOS&B General Executive Council met in executive session under Article XVII of the constitution to hear arguments pertaining to the expulsion of Brandon Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey did not appear, but sent a letter of response. In a unanimous decision, the GEC voted to expel Mr. Dorsey from the MOS&B. Mr. Dorsey has the dubious honor of being the first member of the MOS&B to ever be expelled.

I am happy to report that today there is one less "Enemy within the Gate".

Confederately,

John Moscoe
MOS&B member
Virginia Beach, VA
