Mission Statement

Save the SCV is dedicated to upholding the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, sustaining General S. D. Lee’s charge and defending the SCV from those who would corrupt its honorable mission of protecting and preserving Confederate heritage.

Here’s what you can do right now:

  1. Contact us at SSCV, P.O. 297, Eutawville, S.C. 29048-0297 or at savethescv@yahoo.com and volunteer to be a local point-of-contact. Tell us what Camp, Brigade and Division you are in. Give us a "profile" of your Camp, Brigade and Division: How active are the League of the South, Council of Conservative Citizens, and similar groups in your Camp, Brigade and Division? Does your Camp pledge allegiance to the U.S. flag? If not why not? If the extremists are in control of your Camp, how much opposition to them can you quietly organize? When are your Camp elections?

  2. Copy and distribute our introductory letter to as many SCV members as you can. Send us a list of their names and addresses so we won’t waste our resources on duplicate contacts. If you can’t make the contacts yourself, gather membership lists and addresses from other Camps and send them to us. Attend other local Camp meetings and "profile" them as to the political atmosphere on the issues that concern us. Tell us when and where local camp meetings in your area are held. If local Camps, Brigades and Divisions pledge their support to SSCV, would you be willing to evaluate the effectiveness of their efforts and activities?

  3. If you are comfortable with speaking in a public setting, would you personally carry our message to other Camps in your region?

  4. Give us your ideas. Offer to send out mass mailings in your area. Be willing to work with the established Camp, Brigade and Division commanders as they declare their support for SSCV.

  5. Recruit new members for your Camp. Point-out to prospective members that this is a fight between patriotic Americans and those who represent the irrational philosophies of racism and neo-secessionism.
